Position Description This role follows a hybrid work model and requires attendance at our downtown Toronto office and/or client office a minimum of 2 days per week, subject to change based on business and client requirements. We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support enterprise branch-banking applications deployed across on-premises and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in UI and API test automation, with experience designing scalable automation frameworks and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. The role requires strong experience with Selenium and/or Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, API testing, cross-browser testing, and Agile delivery. Experience working with GCP and banking or financial-services applications is highly desirable. Your future duties and responsibilities Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated UI test scripts using Selenium and/or Playwright. Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks. Develop and execute automated API testing for backend services and integrations. Perform end-to-end, functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, including GCP Cloud Build or equivalent platforms. Implement and optimize parallel test execution to improve automation efficiency and feedback cycles. Perform cross-browser testing across Chromium, Firefox, WebKit, and other supported browsers. Validate frontend workflows, user journeys, and responsive application behavior. Test applications and services deployed across on-premises and GCP environments. Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define effective test scenarios. Identify, document, track, and manage defects through resolution using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools. Analyze automation failures, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve test stability and reliability. Provide test execution reporting, quality metrics, defect trends, and automation coverage updates. Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of quality engineering practices. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role 5+ years of hands-on QA Automation experience in enterprise application environments. Strong hands-on expertise with Selenium and/or Playwright for UI automation. Strong programming/scripting skills using TypeScript and/or JavaScript. Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks. Strong experience with frontend and backend/API automation testing. Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent. Experience implementing parallel test execution and cross-browser testing. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Experience testing cloud-based or cloud-native applications. Strong understanding of end-to-end, regression, smoke, integration, and API testing approaches. Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills. Nice-to-have qualifications Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Cloud Run, GKE, App Engine, and/or Cloud Build. Experience testing applications developed using React or Angular. Experience working with microservices and containerized environments. Banking or broader financial-services domain experience, particularly branch-banking applications. Experience with accessibility testing and WCAG standards. Experience with automation reporting solutions such as Allure, Selenium reporting, or Playwright reports. ! "CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role.
