Job Title: Cook Location: Cherish at Central Park – Langford, BC Job Type: FT Reports To: Head Chef Position Summary At Cherish at Central Park, our cooks are responsible for preparing high-quality, scratch-made meals that support the health, dignity, and enjoyment of our senior residents. Working with the kitchen team, each chef plays a key role in delivering a delicious culinary experience for our seniors. Key Responsibilities Meal Preparation & Service: Prepare high quality tea service, lunch and dinner items according to daily menus. Plate meals for service, ensuring proper portioning, presentation, and timing. Kitchen Coordination Collaborate with other chefs to create and adjust production plans based on staffing and menu flow. Review menus in advance and ensure frozen and perishable ingredients are prepped as needed. Participate in handovers between shifts to ensure continuity and readiness for upcoming services. Cleaning & Organization Clean as you go, following all food safety and sanitation procedures. Complete assigned daily deep-cleaning task (e.g., equipment, storage areas, shelving). Receive and store delivered items, rotating stock according to FIFO principles. Qualifications & Skills 5+ years of professional cooking experience in a commercial or residential kitchen. 5+ years of Scratch cooking/production cooking experience. Required Food Safe Level 1 certification required. Experience working in a senior living setting an asset. Strong time management, organization, and multitasking skills. Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Team-oriented, respectful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Effective verbal and written communication in English. Supports a respectful, gossip-free, and team-driven workplace culture. Job Details Salary: $26 hour to start. Job Type: Permanent Full-Time. Schedule: Between 8am-4:00pm.
