Position Title: Ski Patrol (Seasonal) Department: Operations Reports to: Director, Guest Experience and Administration or designate Our Mission: Offer unique and memorable experiences through fun-filled programs, activities and events Job Summary: Ski Patrollers play a vital role in maintaining the safety and well-being of guests across all trails, slopes, and base areas at Chicopee. The roles primary responsibilities include injury prevention, emergency response, first aid care, and guest education. Ski Patrollers ensures guests are adhering to safety rules and assists in maintaining a positive and secure environment on the hill. Roles and Responsibilities: Maintain valid and up-to-date certifications in first aid and ski patrol requirements Provide immediate first aid care and transportation for injured guests using toboggans or other equipment Respond promptly to accidents, document incidents accurately, and participate in follow-up investigations Educate guests and staff on safety protocols, the Alpine Responsibility Code, and appropriate equipment usage Monitor and maintain safe conditions on trails, lifts, and base areas; identify and report hazards Set up, maintain, and remove signage, fencing, or markers on terrain as required Enforce hill rules and resort policies with professionalism and consistency Perform trail sweeps at the beginning and end of each day to ensure the mountain is clear Maintain cleanliness, organization, and supply levels of the first aid room and other patrol equipment Assist in emergency planning and execution for large-scale incidents (e.g., lift evacuations, missing persons) Attend all pre-season training, in-season meetings, and mandatory corporate training sessions Support other departments as needed during operational demands or emergency situations Uphold Chicopee’s values by ensuring exceptional guest service and safety at all times Key Qualifications: Valid Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) certification, or an equivalent advanced first aid certification recognized in Ontario Must recertify annually through a 16-hour refresher course, written exam, and diagnostic evaluation Excellent skiing or snowboarding ability on all terrain in varied conditions Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident in stressful or emergency situations Physically able to lift and transport injured guests (up to 45 lbs / 20.4 kg), move equipment, and perform outdoor duties in all weather Detail-oriented with strong documentation and incident reporting skills Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and as part of a team Mechanically inclined or experienced in snow safety equipment use (asset) Bilingual (English/French) is an asset Additional Requirements: Must be customer-service oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor Passion for outdoor recreation and guest safety Flexible availability including weeknights, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage shifts Comfortable working long hours in extreme winter Provide your own CSA Z263.1, ASTM F2040, EN 1077, or Snell RS 98 (Health Canada standards) approved ski/snowboard helmet and ski/snowboard equipment. Provide your own uniform items in compliance with our uniform policy. Having following certification will be considered an asset: PSIC, CSIA or CASI You have, or can use our Human Resource platform to obtain, the following certificates: WHMIS; Ladder Safety; Ontario Health & Safety Awareness (OHSA); Workplace Violence & Harassment (Bill 168 & 132); Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); IASR: Information and Communications Standards and Employment Standards; Understanding Human Rights; Safe Lifting; Gender and Sexual Diversity; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB); Safe Food Handling (for Food and Beverage Employees) Training
