As a Business Strategist, you will provide strategic advice, analysis, documentation, and implementation support to help the division plan, improve, and deliver its work. In this role, you will identify business needs and opportunities, develop practical solutions, and support data-informed decision-making through research, analysis, and reporting. You will also prepare clear materials and recommendations for senior leadership and other interested parties to support planning, prioritization, and execution. The primary duties include: Provide strategic advice and analysis to support projects and processes across business units and services. Assess business needs and develop recommendations related to data, systems, and technology solutions. Develop and recommend solutions that support innovation and data-informed decision-making. Present findings and recommendations to leadership, management teams, and project audiences. Implement strategic solutions that support the business unit and department. Qualifications A degree in Business Administration or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in business and financial analysis, project management, and development business strategies and budget. An advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required. Experience in Engineering and/or Project Management would be considered an asset. Success in this position requires: Strong political acumen and the ability to work in ambiguous environments. Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and strategic thinking skills. Ability to prioritize, build consensus among internal/external partners and influence others. Pre-employment Requirements Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Workstyle This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
