The City of Edmonton’s Waste Services Branch is seeking a Project Coordinator to support our 25-year Waste Strategy. In this role, you will lead research initiatives and support the execution of the Communal Collection Program. You will collaborate across teams and engage directly with the public, property managers, and community partners to deliver evidence-based programs. By translating complex findings into practical implementation plans, you will play a key part in keeping Edmonton clean and sustainable. Manage project schedules, activities, and logistics, such as site assessments and vehicle routing Design and execute research plans focused on key operational challenges, and summarize findings for leadership Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform strategy, program design, and standard operating procedures Support the planning and execution of engagement activities with residents, property managers, and external organizations Assist with internal and external change management, develop communication tactics, and draft status reports Address inquiries and concerns from interested parties while managing project-related risks and contractor activities University Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Business, or Project Management with a minimum of two (2) years of directly related project management experience in infrastructure planning, design, construction, or a specialized area OR Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Business, or Project Management with a minimum of four (4) years of directly related project management experience in infrastructure planning, design, construction, or a specialized area Assets: Experience in waste management operations or planning Experience or training in public engagement, public education, and project change management Skills required for success: Demonstrated experience in customer service, community engagement, and managing relationships with diverse groups Knowledge of departmental and civic policies, regulations and operations relevant to the role Proven track record in report writing, research methodologies, and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis Strong analytical, research, and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations Excellent time management, priority setting, and multitasking abilities to meet tight project deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and delivering presentations to leadership Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams Technical acumen with proficiency in MS Office and Google applications Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies (https://bit.ly/4brRrXm) Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion Applicants may be tested Conditions of Employment: Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent).
