Our GITS Department is looking for a dedicated Service Desk Technician to join the team. Position Responsibilities Responding to customer support calls, tickets and requests Logging calls and resolutions into our service request system Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and operating system issues Setting up new user accounts and configuring required hardware Creating and maintaining user security and email accounts Configuration, deploying and recycling computers, laptops, and phones Maintaining installation and resolution guides as required Maintenance and support of AV equipment Creating user documents and communication posts for non-technical users Imaging, configuring, and deployment of replacement desktops and laptops to City staff at multiple facilities Update the digital computer Inventory record keeping system as required Qualifications Essential Skills Good understanding of desktop/laptop hardware and peripherals, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office Suites Exceptional Customer Service skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong time management and organization skills Desire to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines Ability to learn new technologies quickly Capacity to work independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license And most importantly, a great sense of humor Education A+ certification and networking fundamentals Diploma or certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience in a technical support role. CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification an asset RCMP Security Clearance and a valid Alberta driver’s license are mandatory. Hours The standard workweek consists of an average of 35 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor. Compensation Salary range $37.02 to $47.86 per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement. Benefits Comprehensive benefits package.
