Job Description Section: Roads Operations Division: Linear Infrastructure Services Department: Community Infrastructure Initial Reporting Location: St. Clair Job Status: Limited Position Estimated Probable Duration: October 31, 2026 to April 30, 2027 Number of Vacancies: 1 Union Affiliation: CUPE 4705 Outside Unit Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly Shift Work Required: Yes - shift work may be required Rate of Pay: $31.20 per hour The start date will follow the selection process. Main Function: Operate municipal tractor with attachments or other similar type equipment. Characteristic: Under the supervision of a Foreperson. Duties Operate municipal tractor with attachments during winter months. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein. Perform other related duties as required. Note: The above duties are representative of a typical position and are not to be construed as all inclusive. Qualifications Education and Training: Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education. Experience Proven ability to operator a municipal tractor with attachments. Must have some mechanical knowledge to avoid damage to the equipment. Other Requirements Ability to read and follow manufacturer’s routine maintenance instructions. Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing. Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history. May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence and have an acceptable driving record. This job is also being posted as a development opportunity. Development opportunity rate of pay: $29.64 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
