Nestled on the southern coastal mountain slopes overlooking the lush Fraser River Valley, Mission is a rapidly growing and dynamic community of approximately 41,500 residents, 20 kilometers north of the US border and 70 kilometers east of Vancouver. Although Mission is part of a broader metropolitan area, it still maintains its distinct and welcoming small-town flavor. Job Description The City of Mission Recreation Department is seeking qualified and enthusiastic fitness instructors to teach a variety of land fitness classes. The successful candidates will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive environment by demonstrating proper form, techniques, and modifications while providing clear and precise instruction. Applicants must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Qualifications The successful candidate must hold a recognized fitness certification, such as Group Fitness Instructor registration with BCRPA or CFES, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. In addition, current Standard First Aid, CPR-C, and AED certifications are required. Additional Information Flexible availability is required for this position, as classes may be scheduled during mornings, evenings, and weekends. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $31.78/hour, plus 4% vacation pay.
