Reporting to the Aquatic Leadership Portfolio Aquatic Supervisor and Aquatic Coordinator, Aquatic Leadership Conductors are responsible for teaching and evaluating Advanced Leadership Courses and Examinations to the certification standards of the Lifesaving Society while ensuring Richmond Hill policies and procedures followed. All Leadership Conductors are hired in the position of Aquatic Leadership Conductor IV. Employment assignments for Aquatic Leadership Conductor IV, III, II, are based on certifications required for assigned courses. Key Duties and Responsibilities Aquatic Leadership Conductors are responsible for planning, preparing, delivering, tracking attendance and corresponding paperwork attached for the course along with submitting payroll. Conductors are responsible for the safety and supervision of all candidates for the duration of the course timelines in both the classroom and pool settings. Lead specific drills/instruction according to prepared lesson plans while creating a fun, safe and positive learning environment to participants of all ages. Wear appropriate teaching attire, always carry an aid and whistle while on the pool deck. Perform other duties as assigned as assigned. Conductor Teaching/Examination Levels Aquatic Leadership Conductor IV ($24.53/hr.) – Bronze Examinations Aquatic Leadership Conductor III ($30.69/hr.) – Intermeditate First Aid Courses/Examinations Aquatic Leadership Conductor II ($38.37/hr.) – National Lifeguard Courses/Examinations, Swim & Lifesaving Instructor, Examiner, Aquatic Supervisor Education and Experience Responsibilities Aquatic Leadership Conductors are responsible to be current in all Lifesaving Society teaching and examination certifications for assigned courses, in addition to the following: Lifesaving Bronze Examiner Lifesaving Swim Instructor Lifesaving Instructor Lifesaving National Lifeguard (Pool) Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED Aquatic Leadership Conductor must teach a minimum of two full courses per year and must attend any mandatory trainings required by the City of Richmond Hill. Required Skills/Knowledge Ability to perform rescue skills at the Lifesaving Society’s National Lifeguard Standard. Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Be familiar with and execute Richmond Hill Aquatic emergency procedures. Be familiar with the Lifesaving Society program standards for Aquatic Leadership courses. Demonstrates good judgment and makes sound decisions. Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with honesty, openness and respect. Contributes to building and being a part of a positive culture. Ability to demonstrate the City’s corporate values of service, collaboration, care, and courage. Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check. Complete assigned online employee trainings. Submit pre-determined payroll hours online in RH hub, based on the course schedule.
