Job Description And Duties Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Prince Rupert campus, invites applications for term Instructor in the Professional Cook program. The appointment will commence November 16, 2026 and end June 25, 2027 (subject to funding, facility approval and student enrolment) and includes up to 920 hours of instruction. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor scale ($37.55 - $53.80 per hour) plus a comprehensive benefits plan. Duties: The Instructor will facilitate learning and is responsible for ensuring student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition, the instructor will oversee and ensure program safety during equipment operation and practical instruction, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities as well as other related duties as required. Qualifications Professional Cook Journeyperson (preferred) or a Professional Cook Certificate of Qualification with the SkilledTradesBC and Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience should include a minimum of 5 years’ varied field experience as a Journeyperson and 5 years in a supervisory capacity. A Provincial Instructor Diploma or other relevant teaching certification and experience is preferred. A valid Class 5 Driver’s license Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to motivate and mentor learners of all ages Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a collaborative team environment Excellent organizational, communication and facilitation skills Intermediate computer skills (word processing, excel, email) Application information Please send complete applications (cover letter and an up-to-date resume), quoting competition #26.099B, to: Coast Mountain College, Human Resources, Email: [email protected].
