Job summary
Job Description Job Summary Build and maintain analytical models against a Data Vault 2.0 warehouse (hubs, links, satellites), understanding how raw, business, and information marts fit together. Develop transformation and analysis logic across Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, SQL warehouses) and Snowflake (virtual warehouses, streams, tasks, materialized views). Author performant SQL and PySpark to curate data from raw/staging through to consumption layers. Implement and monitor data drift detection — schema drift, distribution drift, and volume/freshness anomalies — and define the responses when source data shifts. Partner with data engineering to validate pipelines, reconcile source-to-target mappings, and enforce data contracts. Establish and maintain data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and observability across the analytical layers you own. Build dashboards and self-serve data products on top of curated marts (Power BI / Tableau / Looker). Optimize query and compute cost across Databricks clusters and Snowflake warehouses. Mentor analysts on platform-native, engineering-grade analytical practices. Required Qualifications 5+ years in data analysis / analytics engineering, with exposure to the air transport, airline, airport, or aviation sector. Advanced SQL, including window functions, CTEs, and query performance tuning. Hands-on experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks in production. Working knowledge of Data Vault modeling concepts (hubs, links, satellites; raw vs. business vault). Proficiency in Python / PySpark for data transformation and analysis. Understanding of data drift, data quality, and observability concepts in a production data environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with dbt for transformation and testing, ideally against a Data Vault pattern. Familiarity with Delta Lake / Delta Live Tables and medallion (bronze/silver/gold) architecture. Experience with orchestration (Airflow, Databricks Workflows) and CI/CD for data. Aviation domain knowledge: schedules, revenue management, crew, MRO, loyalty, IROPS, network planning, or customer experience. Familiarity with data governance and cataloging tools (e.g., Unity Catalog, Collibra, Purview). The expected base salary range for this position is $65 – $70 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity. The Company offers a total rewards package in accordance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and requirements. Benefit eligibility and offerings vary based on role, employment status, and work location. For contractor positions, benefits are limited to those entitlements and protections required by applicable law, which may include (as applicable) vacation pay, public holidays, leaves of absence, and other legally mandated benefits or payments. These tools are used to enhance consistency and efficiency. All hiring decisions involve human review and are not based solely on automated processing.
