Job Description Job Title: Data Analyst Job Status: X2 Permanent Vacancies Team: Analytics Reports to: Manager, Analytics Job Level: 6 I. Job Purpose Creates reports, dashboards and performs ad-hoc analysis to support the College’s strategic commitment to leveraging data and analytics to support evidence-based decision-making. Ii. Key Responsibilities Develops reports, standardized queries, dashboards and performs ad-hoc analysis to support College projects, initiatives, and processes. Coordinates/fulfills data requests and supports relationships with system partners. Supports the work of data scientists in reporting, analyzing and interpreting data; and in the development of data science products. Collaborates with teams at the College to define and/or refine their ad-hoc analysis needs. Iii. Required Qualifications Education and Experience Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a highly quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering) or related analytical fields. Minimum 1 year work experience performing data analysis using statistical software (e.g. R, Python, SPSS, SAS) and creating reports and dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau). Communication – Clarifies data requests to confirm understanding of ad-hoc analytical needs when working with teams and system partners, and supporting the work of data scientists; adjusts communication delivery and approach when difficulties with understanding arise; responds to requests and shares information to appropriate system partners ensuring adherence to the CNO’s policies for accessing information and compliance with Privacy legislation. Data Analysis – Collaborates with teams to obtain a deep understanding of data analysis needs; conducts advanced statistical techniques to analyze data and interpret results. Data Visualization & Reporting – Creates clear and compelling visualizations and comprehensive reports using a variety of advanced data tools; uses a variety of advanced data tools that highlight key points, show trends and patterns; reports findings that are relevant and meaningful.
