Salary Information Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Travel Reimbursement: For work outside of the candidate's designated location, travel will be reimbursed as per College Travel Policy F308 (if applicable and approved). Duties And Responsibilities The Office of Customized and Continuous Learning (CCL) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified individuals to instruct Safety courses as needed. Flexible, contract-based opportunities are offered based on instructor availability and client demand. We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Safety Instructor. Applications are welcome from individuals with diverse industry backgrounds and relevant instructor certifications, including safety professionals, tradespeople, supervisors, and retired industry personnel. In this role, you will ensure required training is conducted in a secure, fair, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver training in accordance with approved curriculum and standards. Ensure all course content is delivered within the required timeframe. Review and prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and equipment in advance of training. Conduct assessments in alignment with program requirements. Evaluate student performance. Report on student progress, challenges, and outcomes as required. Screening Criteria Current certification in the relevant safety program (e.g., Fall Protection, Traffic Control Level 1 & 2, First Aid, WHMIS, OHS, OHS Supervisor, Confined Space Entry, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Mental Health First Aid, Powerline hazards, Chainsaw Safety, Rigging and Hoisting, Forklift Safety Awareness, Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing, etc). Instructor-level certification or authorization from a recognized governing body (e.g., Workplace NL, etc). Demonstrated experience delivering training or instruction (classroom or practical). Experience in safety education, compliance, or regulatory environments.
