We are currently seeking Daycare Educators for temporary positions in various schools within the Riverside School Board. NATURE OF WORK: The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists of organizing, preparing and conducting a series of activities, in keeping with the school’s educational project, to foster the overall development of students under the employee's responsibility, particularly in the daycare service, while ensuring their health and safety. DUTIES: The employee plans, organizes and participates in educational, recreational, cultural and sports activities that promote students’ overall development. The employee supervises students, ensures their safety and well-being, and encourages the development of their autonomy. The employee assists students with daily routines, including meals, snacks, dressing and transitions between activities, while promoting good hygiene and safety practices. The employee may provide support with homework and classroom activities, in accordance with teachers’ instructions. The employee communicates with parents and school staff as needed and may participate in meetings concerning students’ needs and individualized education plans. The employee maintains a safe, clean and organized environment and may perform related administrative tasks. If needed, the employee performs any other related duty. For a complete description of the duties and responsibilities, please consult the Support Staff Classification Plan REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Schooling and Experience Hold a Secondary School Diploma and an Attestation of Vocational Studies in Day Care Services, or a diploma and an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority, and have one (1) year of pertinent experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of: A standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8)-hour duration; or A refresher course of a minimum six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in paragraph 1.
