Corporate Services has an exciting opportunity for a post-secondary student and is seeking one (1) temporary full-time IT Helpdesk/Support Representative from September to December 2026. Purpose of position and profile: The IT Helpdesk/Support Representative works with the Manager of IT Services in delivering a variety of day-to-day hardware, software services and project coordination to the staff members of the Township and on related IT projects. Responsibilities: * Initial reviewer of work orders submitted by staff. First (1st) level helpdesk support: * Acknowledges support requests * Completes initial investigation and research * Advises requester of estimated response time * Provides resolutions to end user support requests * Escalates work orders to 2nd level help desk support as needed * Stages and deploys replacement staff computers * Stages and deploys phones (smartphones and desk phones) * Attends Township’s IT Committee meetings as required * Attends afterhours meetings, such as but not limited to Council Meetings, for technical and virtual meeting support * Monitors and reviews phishing submissions * Other duties as assigned Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Requirements: * Post-secondary education in an IT related discipline * Previous IT help-desk experience preferred * Previous experience with policy & procedure development, purchasing, budgeting, work order management and/or project management an asset * Knowledge of local government/municipal operations, office, and administrative procedures * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal supervision * A high degree of accuracy is essential, as well as an ability to take initiative, research, and assume responsibility for seeing task through to completion * Strong problem-solving, organizational, record keeping, and analytical skills * Strong interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups * Exceptional project management skills including, but not limited to, set own priorities, self-directed, follow through, ability to manage frequent interruptions * A valid Ontario driving license and reliable vehicle required Working conditions: * General office environment, 35 hours per week * Occasional work under desk or up ladders required * Must be able to lift 40lbs * Flexible hours of work, as required, including occasional evening hours to support Council Meetings Interested applicants are invited to submit their resume via the Township Job Board prior to 4:00 pm on August 28, 2026.
