Reports to: Road Superintendent Location: Initial Placement – To Be Determined Minimum Qualifications: * Secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience * Good technical and mechanical skills * Valid Class D license with Z endorsement with an acceptable abstract * Ability to operate light, medium, and heavy equipment, including but not limited to standard transmission tandem dump truck, loader/backhoe, snowplow/sander, tractors, chainsaws, weed eaters, etc. * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment * Good communication skills (both verbal and written) * Demonstrated safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation, i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7, County of Brant Health & Safety Policies & Procedures, etc.) Assets: * Experience with and demonstrated ability to operate road grader * Knowledge related to Public Works Duties: * Operate a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment, power and hand tools to perform maintenance, repair, construction tasks and winter control operations as related to Public Works type activities * Other relevant duties as assigned Wage: $26.75/hour – Probationary Rate $29.96/hour – 6 months to 1 year Rate $33.16/hour – 12 month + Rate Shift Premium available Duration: Mid November – Mid April 40 hours/week Shift Vacancy: 10:30 pm – 7:00 am (Sunday - Thursday) 8:00 pm – 6:30 am (Rotating shift) The application deadline is Friday September 18, 2026 at 9:00a.m. Date of Posting: Tuesday August 25, 2026 The County of Brant is committed to accessible recruitment practices.
