Job details

The mission of the Assistant Store Manager at Cozey Reporting to the Store Manager, the mission of the Assistant Store Manager is to run a sharp, well-covered floor every day so the Edmonton team delivers the full Cozey experience from week one. After the success of our stores in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal, we're opening our Edmonton flagship in the West Edmonton Mall on November 17. You'll join before the doors open, help build the team and its routines from scratch, and run the store whenever the Store Manager is off the floor. This is a full-time, permanent, in-store role. In-person training starts November 2. What you'll be doing Run daily store operations alongside the Store Manager, and own opening, closing and floor coverage when they're away, so the store keeps its standards on every shift. Coach Cozey Ambassadors on the floor in real time, turning each shift into practice on product knowledge, active selling and customer follow-up. Build the schedule around traffic, so coverage is strongest when customers are actually in the store. Track daily sales KPIs and share them with the team, so everyone knows where we stand and what to adjust before the week is over. Lead clienteling: make sure customer details are captured, draft orders are followed up, and happy customers are asked for a review. Keep the store clean, organized and well merchandised, including floor set changes when new products arrive. Manage inventory flow, from order holds and shipments to backstock returns to the warehouse, so what's on the floor matches what's in the system. Support Shopify and POS operations so checkout stays quick and accurate, and jump on transactions when the floor gets busy. We'd love to hear from you if you have 2 to 4 years of retail experience, including at least 1 year leading or supervising a team. Experience opening a new store is a plus. A coaching instinct. You'd rather show someone how to close a sale than close it for them. Comfort with numbers. You read daily sales, conversion and basket size, and you know what to change on the floor because of them. Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to keep operations on track while staying present with customers. Comfort with the physical side of the role (standing, walking, light lifting). Experience with Shopify and Shopify POS is an asset. Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays. We care about you Competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus a quarterly bonus when the store hits its sales goal. Paid time off and group insurance. Endless opportunities for personal and professional growth in a fast-growing start-up. A role where your strategies and decisions directly influence the company's operations and growth. A workspace where everyone is welcomed, heard, and valued. Please note that we may use AI-powered tools to support parts of our hiring process, such as application screening and interview coordination. These tools help us focus our time where it matters most: getting to know candidates. All hiring decisions are made by people, and we're committed to a fair and inclusive process.
