Location: Scarborough, ON | 2121 Markham Road, M1B 2W3 Starting Rate: $24.47/hour (fixed & non-negotiable) Shift: 8-hour / COP Schedule | All Shifts Required What You'll Do... You'll be responsible for operating a cell of PMC machines that produce paper cups while maximizing uptime, productivity, and product quality. Your day-to-day will include: Following all safety policies, GMP requirements, quality standards, and work procedures Operating and monitoring a cell of PMC machines safely and efficiently Reviewing daily production schedules and ensuring production targets are achieved Completing production documentation, including cycle time reports, production records, scrap tickets, and packaging reports Monitoring cycle rates and machine productivity to support production schedules Maintaining product quality through ongoing machine adjustments, including temperature, pressure, trim, roll, and speed settings Inspecting products and processes to ensure quality standards are met Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical issues to minimize downtime Performing routine preventative maintenance and coordinating repair support when required Ensuring accessory equipment remains supplied with product to maintain continuous production Monitoring packaging materials and production supplies to support uninterrupted operations Providing guidance to Lift Truck Operators regarding material movement requirements Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area through regular housekeeping activities Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and performing other duties as assigned What You'll Need... Strong commitment to safety, attendance, quality, and continuous improvement Ability to work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills Ability to monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to successfully complete a mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude assessment College, trade school, or vocational training is considered an asset Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, climbing, standing, and working in varying temperature conditions Manufacturing, production equipment, or machine operation experience is considered an asset Schedule & Union Environment This is a unionized position, and union membership is mandatory upon successful completion of the probationary period.
