We're adding a Paper Automation Operator to support the operation and troubleshooting of our automated packaging systems, ensuring finished products are packaged to quality standards and prepared for the next stage of production. Location: Scarborough, ON | 2121 Markham Road, M1B 2W3 Starting Rate: $24.47/hour (fixed & non-negotiable) Shift: 8-hour / COP Schedule | All Shifts Required What You'll Do... You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated packaging equipment, helping ensure products are packaged accurately and production runs smoothly. Your day-to-day will include: Following all safety policies, GMP requirements, quality standards, and work procedures Operating and monitoring a cell of six PMC machines safely and efficiently Clearing machine jams and restarting equipment to minimize downtime Assisting with film changes on automated bagging equipment Loading flat cartons into machine hoppers as required Changing tape rolls and replenishing packaging materials Reloading rejected product back into the process as appropriate Inspecting products in accordance with quality control standards Cleaning and maintaining equipment in accordance with BRC and sanitation requirements Making program adjustments and operational changes as needed Troubleshooting mechanical issues and resolving equipment problems Communicating operational concerns and production issues to supervisors and team members Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and performing other duties as assigned What You'll Need... Strong commitment to safety, attendance, quality, and continuous improvement Ability to work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting abilities Manual dexterity and the ability to work with automated production equipment Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain visual concentration throughout the shift Ability to successfully pass a mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude assessment Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing, standing, and working around production equipment Experience operating manufacturing or automated packaging equipment is considered an asset Schedule & Union Environment This is a unionized position, and union membership is mandatory upon successful completion of the probationary period.
