Functions And Duties Spend ample time in the field auditing and inspecting work sites, providing mentoring to workers & supervisors Ensuring compliance with company rules, client requirement and OH&S legislation Assist with onboarding process Prepare and conduct daily toolbox meetings and weekly safety meetings Advise management team on occupational health and safety regulations, company and site rules, policies and procedures Track worker training requirements and book training courses as required Field observation on tasks being performed, record and use data to build/revise job hazard analysis and work procedures in collaboration with front line workers and supervisor Prepare weekly HSE report and trending reports Assist supervisors and workers with Health and Safety concerns and Hazard identification Build site specific and project specific HSE Plans and Emergency Response Plans to support activities being conducted Collaborate with and consult management team on short and long-term strategies and play active role in the continuous improvement efforts of the OHS management system Ensure incident reporting guidelines are followed. Lead comprehensive incident investigations, establish root causes, draft incident reports and implement effective corrective actions in conjunction with project management to prevent recurrence Manage injured workers back to work plan, document and report details to Worker’s Compensation Board and assist injured workers on modified work assignments Required Skills 3 to 5 years of experience in the HSE field or trade background experience NCSO / CSO at minimum HSE certificate or diploma considered an asset Experience working in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects, maintenance or turnarounds considered an asset Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Strong working knowledge of OHS legislation DNV incident investigation or tap root considered an asset Ability to read, understand and implement health and safety management systems. Team player and sense of accountability. WORKING CONDITIONS Shift Cycle: TBD Day or Night Shift Travel is required Camp accommodations Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
