Role Description The Commission Sales Associate is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with some flexibility for work from home. In this role, the associate engages customers in the showroom, provides product recommendations, and supports clients in selecting home furnishings and décor that meet their style, budget, and functional needs. Day-to-day tasks include building relationships with walk-in and appointment-based clients, explaining product features and benefits, and guiding customers through the purchasing process to ensure a positive experience. The associate collaborates closely with the interior design team, prepares quotations, processes orders, and follows up on leads generated through in-store and online channels. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining a well-presented showroom, staying current with product lines and promotions, and consistently meeting or exceeding individual and team sales targets. Qualifications Demonstrated sales and customer service skills, with experience in commission-based retail or a similar client-facing environment. Knowledge of home furnishings, décor, or interior design, with the ability to understand styles, trends, and basic space-planning concepts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, clear presentation of options, and professional email and phone etiquette. Ability to use point-of-sale systems, CRM tools, and basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, online product catalogs). Proven ability to manage multiple clients, prioritize tasks, and follow through on leads and post-sale customer care. Comfort working in a hybrid environment, collaborating on-site with colleagues and handling some administrative or follow-up tasks remotely. Prior retail or showroom experience in furniture, home décor, or related industries is an asset. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, marketing, interior design, or a related field is an advantage.
