Job summary
Temporary position for 12 months As a French to English UX translator, you’ll translate and adapt digital solutions that meet the objectives of Desjardins Group and the Strategy, Analytics and Performance Division. Specifically, you’ll translate digital content for online platforms in the Wealth Management and Insurance sectors. You'll be a on a multidisciplinary team, working in a fast-paced environment where you'll have to adjust to different contexts and situations. You'll be working with user experience writers (RUX), user experience specialists (UX), user interface specialists (UI), product managers (PO), business analysts, development teams (IT), SEO specialists, quality assurance specialists, accessibility specialists, and legal and compliance specialists. More specifically, you will be required to : Translate and adapt digital content in collaboration with the members of a multidisciplinary team, particularly with UX writers and specialists Apply UX, SEO and accessibility best practices when translating and adapting digital content Identify potential challenges, needs and problems as well as opportunities for improving a user’s experience with strategic digital content Conduct terminology and linguistic research in English to ensure consistency within the organization Contribute and adhere to Desjardins style guides Help determine methods and develop working tools with fellow team members Ensure overall consistency of content to promote the Desjardins image, brand and mission Use terminology that is consistent with the best practices used in the business and digital fields, specifically in the financial services industry, while taking into account Desjardins’s specific characteristics Align translations, create bi-texts, update translation memories as needed What we offer* Competitive salary and annual bonus 4 weeks of flexible vacation starting in the first year Defined benefit pension plan that provides predictable, stable income throughout retirement Group insurance including telemedicine Reimbursement of health and wellness expenses and telework equipment *Benefits apply based on eligibility criteria. #LI-Hybrid What you bring to the table A bachelor’s degree in translation or a related field A minimum of four years of relevant experience Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered Experience working in an agile-based work environment ATIO or OTTIAQ certification Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients Proficiency in specialized digital, business and cooperative terminology Knowledge of the principles of UX writing, SEO and accessibility Knowledge of professional linguistic practices and standards Knowledge of MemoQ Action oriented, Business insight, Customer Focus, Differences, Interpersonal Savvy, Nimble learning Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility At Desjardins, we believe in equity, diversity and inclusion.
