Job summary

CA$25–30/hour to start, with a move to full-time salary after a paid trial month. Show me the portfolio; the rate follows it. Most educational videos are a person talking at a camera about something useful. Forgettable. The ones people remember turn an ordinary topic into something you can see — a hundred lightbulbs on a table instead of a statistic, a physical demo instead of an explanation. That's the job. I run DigitalSamaritan — an AI education brand with 1.2M+ followers. I'm hiring someone to build these videos with me: someone who genuinely enjoys filming, wants to be on set (not just at a desk), and gets a kick out of asking "how do we show this?" Some of those videos are partner work with OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and Microsoft — the companies building the tools we cover. What you'll actually do Own the story strategy — how an ordinary topic becomes a narrative worth watching: the angle, the arc, the moment that makes someone send it to a friend. You pitch it, you defend it, you own whether it landed Turn that story into something filmable with me — props, physical metaphors, demos, staging — then we go build it, same day Film — setup, lighting, second angle, b-roll, the running-around part of production. You should like this part Edit shorts and reels — cuts, captions, pacing, on-screen text Clip live workshops and long-form into short-form Study what's working in the niche, bring me formats worth stealing from, and track how ours perform You're probably a fit if You graduated recently (or are about to) and you already make videos — your own account, a club's, a friend's. Size doesn't matter; the instinct does You think in stories, not clips — you can tell me why a video's first three seconds earn the next thirty You're in Vancouver and want to be on-site for shoots — this is a hands-on, in-person role When you see a great video, your first thought is "how did they make that?" — and your second is "what would I have done differently?" You'd rather spend an afternoon rigging a weird prop shot than write a caption You use AI tools out of curiosity and can keep up with the space What you'll get We partner with brands like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and Microsoft — you'll help create that partner content and see how those deals actually work Your ideas ship in hours, not weeks — we film, cut, and post the same day. No approval chains, nobody circling back A front-row seat to how a personal brand and media business is built — content, community, newsletter, partnerships, all of it Direct mentorship: you work with me, not under three layers of managers You're not joining to execute my ideas. You're joining to make the ideas better — every video is a chance to turn "here's a tip" into an experience someone remembers and repeats to a friend.
