Role Description The Driller – Environmental & Geotechnical role is a full-time, on-site position located in London, ON. In this role, the driller operates and maintains heavy drilling equipment to complete environmental and geotechnical boreholes, sampling, and installations according to project specifications. Daily activities include setting up drill rigs, monitoring drilling progress, collecting soil and groundwater samples, and performing routine inspections on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. The driller collaborates with project managers, field technicians, and clients to follow drilling plans, adhere to regulatory and safety standards, and accurately document field activities. This role may require working in varying weather conditions, traveling to job sites, and following strict health and safety protocols. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency with heavy equipment operation relevant to drilling projects, including safe setup, use, and basic maintenance. Experience in environmental and geotechnical drilling methods, including core drilling, auger drilling, and related sampling techniques. Competence in conducting site and equipment inspections, identifying hazards, and supporting corrective actions to maintain safety and quality. Minimum 2 years environmental & geotechnical experience, with familiarity in auger drilling, direct push, mud rotary,air rotary, diamond core drilling, etc. Class 1 or 3 Well Techinician License would be an asset. Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to various job sites as needed. Strong awareness of occupational health and safety regulations and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments, lift moderate loads, and operate tools and equipment safely. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in drilling, heavy equipment operation, or environmental fieldwork are considered an asset.
