This role will be a full-time, permanent position working out of our production facility in Ottawa, Ontario. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to team safety and well being, being respectful, and acting with integrity. We strive for excellence in everything we do! The ideal candidate will have experience in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of precision guillotine cutters, high-speed folders, and saddle-stitching equipment (including cutting programs, fold layouts, and wire-stitching), and will align with our core values and company culture. AS A BINDERY OPERATOR, CUTTER/STITCHER, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY: * Setting up and operating precision guillotine paper cutters, high-speed folders, and saddle-stitching equipment according to project specifications. * Programming cutter dimensions and adjusting stitcher feeder pockets, caliper controls, wire stitch heads, and inline trimmers. * Performing scheduled preventative maintenance, including knife changes on cutters/trimmers as well as cleaning and lubricating folder and stitcher components. * Inspecting materials throughout production runs for defects, verifying cutting squareness, fold registration, and wire stitch accuracy. * Accurately recording production data, run quantities, waste, and job completion metrics on appropriate forms. * Adhering strictly to workplace health and safety protocols and keeping work areas safe and debris-free. YOU CAN EXCEL AS A BINDERY OPERATOR, CUTTER/STITCHER, IF YOU HAVE: * A completion of secondary education and/or equivalent. * A valid Ontario trade certificate. * Specialized production knowledge of paper cutting programs, fold layouts, signature collating, wire stitching, and three-knife trimmers. * Strong mechanical skills to set up folder plates/rollers, program paper cutters, and fine-tune stitching heads and feeder pockets. * Exceptional attention to detail regarding cutting squareness, trim dimensions, stitch placement, and fold registration. * Clear communication skills to collaborate with team members and share critical job information during shift changes. * The ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and procedures with minimal supervision. * Demonstrated ability to excel in a high-speed production facility, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
