Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Community Service Worker (SCSW) to join our dynamic team as an onsite/in-person instructor in our Surrey Campus. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educating and mentoring future social service professionals. This position involves teaching a variety of subjects within the SCSW program, including Communication (Interpersonal), Personal Growth , Lifespan Development, Mental Health, Supportive Care, Personal Care and Professional Growth. Position Title: Social & Community Service Worker (SCSW) Program Instructor Wage Range: $31–$33 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Start Date : September 22, 2026 Work Schedule: Tuesday to Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. plus 2 hours of office hours each week. Deliver in-person (on-site) will instruct courses in the SSW program within the guidelines, and using the curriculum and mentoring provided by the college. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have: Certificate related to community support work AND 24 months of related occupational experience OR 10 years of related occupational experience Previous teaching experience would be an asset, and good computer knowledge (Excel, Microsoft Teams etc) would be essential.
