Reporting to the Economic Development Officer, the Economic Development Specialist plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of economic development projects and programs. This position supports project management, customer relationship management, research and analysis, communications, marketing, and department administration while contributing to the implementation of the District's Economic Development Sector Strategy. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate grant-funded economic development projects. Conduct economic and demographic research to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices. Analyze data and prepare statistical, sectoral, and economic reports. Develop recommendations that support sustainable economic growth and strategic decision-making. Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and industry partners. Draft and edit communications, reports, website content, and correspondence. Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in a related discipline including project management and business relationship management; supplemented with 2 years’ experience in research, communications, and marketing and a degree in Commerce, Economic Development, Marketing, or Business Administration.
