With new project wins and an expanding portfolio, they are seeking to immediately bring on a mid-level, workplace-focused Interior Designer who is ready to take ownership of projects and become an integral part of a close-knit team. About The Role You'll become the primary Interior Designer within a collaborative team, working alongside experienced industry professionals and leadership, who provide support while giving you the freedom to manage your own work. You'll lead multiple commercial projects simultaneously, developing practical, creative design solutions while coordinating directly with clients, landlords, consultants, and construction teams. What You'll Do Lead commercial interior projects from initial programming through construction completion Develop creative space planning solutions and finish selections that balance aesthetics, functionality, and budget Produce detailed AutoCAD and SketchUp drawing packages, including permit, tender, construction, and as-built drawings Prepare building permit applications and coordinate municipal approvals Navigate landlord approval processes and ensure compliance with construction guidelines Apply strong knowledge of the BC Building Code throughout the design process Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and trades to deliver successful projects Attend client meetings, project site visits, and construction meetings Build lasting relationships with clients while confidently presenting design solutions Manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail WHAT YOU BRING Approx. 5+ years of commercial interior design experience A Diploma or Degree in Interior Design Experience managing commercial projects with increasing independence Strong knowledge of the BC Building Code Experience producing permit and construction drawing packages Familiarity with municipal permitting processes and landlord approvals Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and MS Project A valid BC Driver's License and access to reliable transportation WHO YOU ARE Confident presenting ideas and building relationships with clients Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a close-knit team Highly organized and capable of managing several projects simultaneously Entrepreneurial in your approach and motivated by accountability Creative, practical, and solutions-focused Calm under pressure and adaptable Excellent with people; have great interpersonal skills Someone who thrives when trusted with responsibility rather than micromanaged WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU This is more than another Interior Designer role.
