Intermediate Accountant Full-Time, On-site Vancouver, BC Reference Number: CAN-BC-NO-134-130826 SUMMARY Reporting to the Division Controller, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting, account reconciliations, quarter end and year end reports, and a variety of accounting related tasks. EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS Prepare monthly journal entries, month end reports, and monthly variance analysis Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Prepare and maintain fixed assets continuity schedule and fixed asset ERP system Analyze and reconcile vendor rebates, insurance, and property taxes Assist with month-end close under tight reporting deadlines Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS along with supporting schedules Prepare quarterly and annual account reconciliations Assist with preparation of month-end financial package by consolidating data from internal sources Verify general ledger coding and approvals Complete relevant external surveys and reporting to third parties, such as lenders and Statistics Canada Maintain Finance department filing system Support as required for corporate accounting, internal audit, and external auditors Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, such as Power Query, Power Pivot, or similar Experience with a Tier 1 ERP accounting software Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work under tight reporting deadlines Superior accuracy with meticulous attention to details Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multiple demands at once Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies EDUCATION Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting is a minimum requirement Completion of at least 2nd year of CPA program, or newly designated CPA Benefits COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The typical hiring range for this position is $65,000 - $73,000 annually. The base pay offered is based on geographical location and may vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Similar positions located in other geographical locations may not necessarily receive the same salary range. The compensation information is an estimate and provided to meet with applicable provincial Pay Transparency legislation.
