Role Description This full-time Registered Hearing Practitioner/Audiologist role is a hybrid position based in Calgary, AB, with a combination of in-home client visits and some work-from-home responsibilities. Day-to-day tasks include conducting comprehensive hearing assessments, counseling clients on hearing health, and recommending appropriate hearing aid solutions and accessories. The role involves fitting, programming, and fine-tuning hearing aids, providing follow-up care, and delivering ongoing maintenance and support. The practitioner documents clinical findings, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with clients and their families to ensure clear understanding of treatment plans. Administrative tasks such as scheduling, report writing, and telehealth consultations may also be performed remotely. Qualifications Registered Hearing Practitioner, Audiologist, or equivalent designation in good standing, meeting provincial regulatory requirements. Proficiency in conducting hearing assessments, interpreting audiograms, and fitting, programming, and troubleshooting hearing aids and related accessories. Strong client service skills, including empathetic communication, active listening, and the ability to educate clients and families about hearing health. Comfort with mobile practice, including traveling to clients’ homes within Calgary and area, and working independently in varied environments. Basic technical proficiency with clinical software, digital documentation, and remote communication tools for hybrid and telehealth work. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to manage appointments, follow-ups, and detailed clinical records. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to transport necessary clinical equipment safely. Diploma or degree in Hearing Instrument Sciences, Audiology, or a related field; additional certifications in hearing aid technology are an asset. Experience in community-based or mobile hearing care is an advantage, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
