We are looking for a Design Manager to join our Canada team and lead the engineering, design, drafting, and document control functions within the Toronto branch across a diverse and growing project portfolio. The Role Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee all design and engineering activities within the branch, ensuring scope, standards, and project requirements are delivered on time and to the highest quality. You will also collaborate with ECG offices in Perth, Brisbane, and Manila, providing coordination and technical input across the wider business. Your responsibilities will span: Managing and overseeing all engineering, design, drafting, and document control functions within the Toronto branch Ensuring engineering scope, project standards, specifications, and all project-specific requirements are met and delivered to target Monitoring engineering design and project services for quality, consistency, and technical accuracy in line with ECG procedures and client expectations Working closely with the Operations Manager to support client relationships and business development activities Preparing and presenting proposals for studies and projects for management approval Providing specialist knowledge and expert advice across project design and coordinating the Electrical Design team Monitoring and reviewing project labor budgets and initiating corrective actions where required Attending project meetings, liaising with clients, and ensuring communication standards are consistently high Staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve services and production efficiency What You Bring 10 or more years of experience in engineering, management, or a similar role Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to manage client and internal team relationships Advanced understanding of safety and quality systems as they apply to electrical engineering in mineral processing environments Advanced knowledge of relevant IEC and/or Australian or Canadian Standards applicable to mineral processing plants Experience with project management, product development, and project controls including cost and schedule Mineral processing plant construction experience is an advantage Solid understanding of relevant technologies and industry trends Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail Why join ECG?
