Job details
The Opportunity: Join a collaborative finance team where accounting, technology, and process improvement come together. As a Intermediate Finance Systems Analyst, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial systems, supporting accounting operations, and helping deliver system and process enhancements. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with data, investigating issues, improving processes, and partnering with teams across the organization. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while developing deeper expertise in financial systems and reporting. This role is 99% remote, with in-office days required once per quarter. This role can only be done within Canada. What You’ll Do: Support the testing and implementation of system enhancements, new products, and process changes, ensuring results are thoroughly validated, documented, and supported by appropriate controls. Gather and validate financial data from multiple sources and record transactions accurately to support reliable and timely reporting. Investigate and resolve system exceptions, suspense account activity, and posting discrepancies, identifying root causes and reducing the risk of recurring errors. Analyze general ledger activity and system-generated entries, performing reconciliations and investigating unusual or inconsistent results. Partner with operational teams to research transaction issues, determine appropriate resolutions, and implement adjustments supported by clear analysis and documentation. Prepare financial analysis and respond to ad hoc requests, translating data into practical insights for business partners and stakeholders. Contribute to ongoing process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, automate repetitive activities, and enhance reporting tools and templates. Participate in finance, systems, and business initiatives, taking ownership of assigned deliverables and contributing to successful project outcomes. Provide team coverage and collaborate with other functions when additional support is required. Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing accurate information, documentation, and analysis. What You Bring: College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 3+ years of relevant accounting experience. Hands-on experience working with financial or accounting systems. Experience testing accounting processes, system changes, or new products is highly valued. Experience with Workday Financials is an asset; familiarity with system configuration or report development is an advantage. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and manipulate financial data effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a natural curiosity for understanding how and why things work. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to independently organize priorities, manage competing deadlines, and follow work through to completion. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams. Background in financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry is an asset. Why This Role? You’ll be more than a numbers-focused accountant. This role sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and operational improvement, giving you the opportunity to influence how financial processes work, strengthen controls, and help shape better ways of doing business. If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, working with systems and data, and turning complex issues into practical solutions, this role offers a strong platform to grow your career. Compensation: The compensation for this role is $85-95k base plus annual bonus.
