The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with four operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua. Job Summary We are seeking a Casual Mine Haul Truck Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Casual Mine Haul Truck Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating a Mine Haul Truck. This local based position offers a schedule of 24 hours per week, consisting of two 12-hour shifts. Key Responsibilities Operate the Large Mine Haul Truck in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures. Perform Field Level Risk Assessments. Cleaning operator cabin and refilling equipment fluids as required. Complete logbooks and daily reports on safety issues and production. Accurately track all load’s sources, and destinations. Use two-way-radio, horn, and light signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety. Use the Mine Haul Truck according to operating practices, policies, and procedures to haul materials such as sand, aggregates, blasted rock, and snow to various locations on the mine site. Monitor gauges, and other indicators to ensure the mine haul truck is working properly, report discrepancies. Required Experience & Skill Set Previous industrial experience is preferred. Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment is preferred. Job Conditions Strong commitment to safety. Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Willing to perform repetitive tasks. This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario. Certifications Valid Ontario G1, equivalent or higher driver's licence. Common Core for Surface Mining is an asset. Requirements
