Purpose As a successful program administered by our Musselwhite Academy, this three-month training program is designed to prepare individuals who are interested in working in an underground mining environment. The curriculum includes the Underground Hard Rock Miner – Common Core modules, along with a selection of specialty modules tailored to the industry. Stope School prepares trainees with a strong foundational understanding of underground mining, with safety emphasized as a top priority. Training consists of theory and practical activities consistent with the guidelines outlined by the Common Core Modules, a series of programs administered by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Skills Development. Upon successful completion of the program, participants may be considered for advancement into a Mine Trainee position, subject to performance, operational requirements, and available opportunities. Successful Candidates Will Have 18 years of age or older Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team Self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills Fluency in English Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Working Conditions The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day. Compensation The hourly rate for this position is CAD $25.00 per hour.
