Job summary

Job description: A day in the life of an Application Specialist at Esri Canada: Deliver product demonstrations and training to prospective and existing customers. Manage assigned technical activities for small to medium professional services engagements, delivering solutions that align with defined scope, schedule, and quality objectives. Lead and contribute to requirements clarification, needs analysis, and functional solution design using off‑the‑shelf Esri technology. Configure, deploy, upgrade, and support Esri platforms, including desktop, server, geodatabase, web, and mobile applications. Design and implement GIS-based solutions that address client business objectives, applying appropriate standards, methods, and tools. Provide technical input, validation, and estimates in support of proposals, statements of work, and project planning activities. Identify and resolve technical issues within assigned accountability, escalating issues that fall outside established frameworks. Collaborate effectively with project team members and cross‑functional groups to support successful project delivery. Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior resources as required within assigned project work. What you bring to the team: Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, engineering, geography, GIS, information technology, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience designing, configuring, and implementing GIS-based solutions in a professional services, consulting, or client-facing technical environment. Experience working with Esri products in a military intelligence capacity is considered an asset. Esri Technical Certification in one or more relevant areas (such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, or ArcGIS API for Python) is considered an asset. Must reside in the Kingston region. Ability to attain Canadian Federal Government – Secret clearance, with priority given to candidates who already possess this level of clearance. Demonstrated ability to analyze business needs and translate requirements into practical technical solutions. Proven experience configuring and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related Esri technologies. Requirements
