Discover more by following us on LinkedIn!JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL FUNCTION Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Canadian payroll while ensuring compliance with federal and provincial legislation, CRA requirements, and company policies. Provides payroll support to employees and HR, resolves payroll issues, and supports payroll reporting and year-end activities. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Process bi-weekly payroll for Canadian salaried and hourly employees. Calculate regular pay, overtime, bonuses, commissions, vacation pay, taxable benefits, and other earnings. Process payroll deductions, including CPP, EI, income tax, benefits, pensions, garnishments, and other applicable deductions. Ensure payroll compliance with federal and applicable provincial requirements. Maintain accurate employee payroll and personal information. Process new hires, terminations, transfers, salary changes, leaves, and other employee transactions. Prepare and process Records of Employment (ROEs) when required. Reconcile payroll and payroll-related accounts and investigate discrepancies. Respond to employee and HR inquiries regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and tax matters. Support payroll audits and provide payroll reports to HR, Finance, and management. Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4/T4A reporting and applicable provincial forms such as RL-1 for Quebec. Stay current on changes to Canadian payroll legislation, tax requirements, and provincial employment standards. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of Canadian payroll experience. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, including CRA, CPP, EI, T4s, and ROEs. Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian/Dayforce, UKG, or similar. Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills. High level of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is preferred.
