Project Manager / Estimator – Civil Construction Lillooet, BC | Full-Time, Permanent | $120,000–$140,000/year Take on a key role with an established civil contractor entering a significant period of growth. Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to lead civil projects from initial opportunity and estimating through execution and closeout. Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, geotechnical reports, and project requirements. Complete quantity takeoffs and develop detailed estimates for labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors, overhead, contingency, and markup. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing. Prepare pricing and compliant tender submissions for projects ranging from smaller civil work to major infrastructure contracts. Conduct site visits and pre-bid reviews. Help develop and improve estimating systems, processes, unit costs, and tools. Project Management Manage civil projects from award through execution and closeout. Develop schedules and coordinate crews, equipment, subcontractors, materials, and project resources. Provide project-level direction and oversight to the field supervisor/foreman. Anticipate staffing and resource requirements as projects mobilize and progress. Manage budgets, cost controls, forecasts, change orders, and project documentation. Coordinate progress billing and project information with finance. Liaise with clients, engineers, consultants, project partners, utilities, and other stakeholders. Maintain strong communication between field operations and the office. Manage project closeout, including deficiencies, as-builts, and final reconciliation. What You Bring 5+ years of civil construction experience encompassing both estimating and project management responsibilities. Strong experience in earthworks, roadworks, site servicing, utilities, access construction, or related civil infrastructure. Proven experience managing civil projects ranging from approximately $500,000 to $50 million. Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, productivity, equipment, project costing, budgets, and schedules. Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and contracts. Strong communication, organization, commercial judgment, and leadership skills. Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills. Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent trade and field experience. Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driving abstract. Legally entitled to work in Canada. Assets BC Bid experience, MMCD/CCDC knowledge, hydro or utility project experience, relevant professional designations, and previous experience working with Indigenous-owned businesses or First Nations communities are considered assets. Location & Flexibility The preferred location for this role is Lillooet, BC, with regular involvement at active project sites. For a strong candidate, a hybrid arrangement may be considered, including for someone based in Kamloops who can travel to Lillooet and project sites as required. Requirements
Requires 5+ years of civil construction experience in estimating and project management, specifically within earthworks or infrastructure. A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred along with a valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence.
