Gracious acknowledgement of guests at all times Prompt response for assisting departing guests, if not within five minutes then guest is notified of time. Converse with guest while rooming and departing guests Upon check out, offers to have valet car brought to entrance or assist with other transportation Takes responsibility for guest inquiries and problems Performs shoe shine duties when needed Performs pick up and delivery of guest luggage etc. to and from off-site area Records all deliveries and storage of items efficiently and accurately Unload luggage from tour busses and transport to guest rooms Ensures that the security of the hotel is maintained through participation in the Emergency response procedures and ensure only registered guests and patrons use the Reception Lobby Other duties as assigned Delivers overnight menu requests to guest rooms Qualifications Your experience and skills include: A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience (in the last 5 years) as a Porter or Doorperson, or in a position demanding a luxury standard of constant guest/customer service. Individuals pursuing or having completed a post-secondary education in Hospitality require a minimum of four (4) months' of recent experience as stated above. A valid BC Class 5 drivers’ license (must provide a drivers’ abstract reflecting a history of responsible driving) Comprehensive and current knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information Impeccable grooming and presentation Additional Information Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): The position of Porter is physically demanding and has a direct impact on the security of our employees and guests. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, as well as lifting and carrying heavy loads (average 50lbs). The successful applicant must be comfortable working the majority of the time outdoors in all elements. Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Requirements

Requires at least one year of recent experience as a Porter or Doorperson, or four months for those with hospitality education. Must possess a valid BC Class 5 driver's license and be physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
