By efficiently delivering food from the kitchen to the dining room, Food Porters contribute significantly to creating memorable guest experiences. They support servers by multitasking effectively, assisting on the floor, clearing tables, and polishing glassware. Join our team to be an integral part of delivering exceptional service to our guests. Starting Rate: $18.08 per hour We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $19.08. Job Duties Include Completing opening and closing duties, i.e. daily cleaning, stocking outlets, patio set up and maintenance, dining room preparation, moving and arranging tables and chairs, reservation bookings, confirmations and cancellations, coordinating FOH and BOH with regards to services, guests, allergies, VIPs, etc. Transporting food from the kitchen to the dining room in a quick and efficient way Assist Food & Beverage Servers in all aspects of the dining experience Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way Have knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods Follow LQA and Forbes standards Other duties as assigned Qualifications Your Skills & Qualifications: 6 months previous food and beverage experience required preferably in a fast-paced luxury environment Must have Pro-Serve Certification Must be able to carry and serve 3 plates at one time Schedule flexibility, including early mornings, late nights, weekends,holidays Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Constant standing and walking throughout shift (8 hours) Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting Variable temperature indoor + outdoor Working in a loud environment Additional Information Job Perks & Benefits Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time status employees One complimentary meal per shift in our staff cafeteria (additional meals can be purchased for $8/meal) Employee travel program with discounts on room rates as well as on food & beverage at Fairmont & Accor properties world-wide Access to the Mountain Explorer Travel Program – exclusive room rates for colleagues, which includes 50% off all food & beverage when staying at Fairmont Resorts in Lake Louise, Jasper & Whistler Discounts while using our resort’s Food & Beverage Outlets, Fitness Centre, Spa and Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Courses Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Requirements
Requires 6 months of food and beverage experience, preferably in a luxury environment, and a valid Pro-Serve Certification. Candidates must be physically capable of carrying three plates and lifting up to 40 lbs.
