About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance . FDM is seeking a Manager, Engineering located in Ontario, Kitchener, Toronto and or Waterloo to support a project in the Banking sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 6 months but may be extended. This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week. About You 3-5 Years Previous hands-on engineering experience in Java (java, springboot, react, etc.)_ 3-5 years of People management overseeing a team of at least 6-9 engineers Be comfortable reading code still and to question architecture/solutions Communication skills, be able to communicate to leadership teams as well as product teams. Translating technical jargon to simple language Ability to properly manage team and individual workloads to ensure projects hit deadlines senior with more technical experience hands on engineering experience Nice to Haves Bachelors degree in a STEM field like Computer science, math, engineering discipline Industry experience in Tech ,Banking, or Telecom Experience leading squads that contain full stack, front-end, and backend About Us out FDMFDM powers the people behind tech and innovation. The Engineering Manager will oversee a team of 6-9 engineers to deliver projects within the banking sector. Responsibilities include managing workloads to meet deadlines and translating technical jargon for leadership and product teams.

Candidates need 3-5 years of hands-on Java engineering experience and 3-5 years of people management experience. Ability to review code and question architectural solutions is essential.
