Role Description As a Mortgage Agent at Fides Mortgages, you will work full time in a hybrid arrangement based in Whitby, ON, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their financial profile, explaining mortgage products and options, and guiding them through pre-approval, application, and closing processes. You will source and structure mortgage solutions, gather and review documentation, liaise with lenders and underwriters, and ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met. The role also involves generating new business through networking and mortgage marketing initiatives, maintaining accurate records in brokerage systems, and delivering clear, timely communication to clients and partners. You will collaborate closely with the brokerage team to support a high standard of client service and contribute to the growth of the practice. Qualifications Strong knowledge of the mortgage industry, including current regulations, products, and market trends. Experience with mortgage servicing activities such as documentation review, file management, and coordination with lenders and insurers. Proficiency in advising on and structuring mortgages, including suitability assessment and risk evaluation. Skills in mortgage marketing and business development, including networking, lead generation, and client relationship management. Background in mortgage lending or related financial services, with the ability to analyze income, credit, and property information. Valid Mortgage Agent license in Ontario (or eligibility to obtain), and adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in clear, accessible language. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with comfort using digital tools and CRM systems. Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while collaborating effectively with a team. Previous experience in a brokerage or lending environment is an asset; multilingual capability is considered an advantage.
