Our Terrace Finning team is looking for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their team! If you are self-motivated, embrace challenge and are looking for ample opportunities for growth and development, Finning may be the next opportunity for you! • Wage: $33.50 - $50.25 based on year of apprenticeship (2nd – 4th year wages) • Paid Time Off in Year 1: Vacation & Sick time • 6% Employer paid pension, plus up to 1% additional • 6% voluntary Employee Share Purchase, earns 2% Finning match • 100% Employer paid medical benefits • CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Caterpillar equipment. Perform inspections and identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues. Use advanced diagnostic tools and technology to efficiently resolve equipment failures. Complete repairs and preventative maintenance to high safety and quality standards. Communicate with customers and internal teams to provide timely service updates. Support a strong safety culture and follow all site and company safety requirements. Deliver exceptional customer service that keeps equipment operating at peak performance. Qualifications: 2nd, 3rd, 4th year apprentices will be considered Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems Experience with construction, forestry and mining equipment is an asset Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset Important Details: This position is based out of Terrace, Monday - Friday (5x2) shift A condition of employment may include the ability to wear a respirator Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Requirements
Candidates must be 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year apprentices with strong experience in electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems. Experience with construction, forestry, or mining equipment is considered an asset.
