Cook jobs, Local food, Local farms Hiring: Cook and cook helper Farm: Pair A Gardens Location: Ashton, Greater Ottawa, Ontario (near Stittsville, Richmond, Carleton Place) Our farm food truck is looking for two people to join our crew. We serve typical food truck fare like burgers and fries using our farm raised beef and vegetables. When the food truck is not busy, we make jams, jellies, pickles, preserves, sweets and meals for our farm stand located next door. We offer farm-to-plate meals. We are looking for an additional cook and cook helper for the food truck. The cook’s responsibilities include serving customers, cooking orders, keeping the food truck clean, making products for the farm stand during quiet times, making sure to have an up to date inventory list, to list a few. A cook’s helper main responsibilities include assisting the cook by prepping food, frying and boxing up fries, keeping the drink fridge full, cleaning eating areas by wiping tables down each day and collecting garbage nightly, assisting with taking orders to list a few. Both jobs are full time and year round. There is availability for part time work. If you enjoy being on a farm, cooking, baking, preserving then this may be the place for you. Even if you do not have working experience but are passionate about food, we are willing to train the right person. We are looking for people who want to help us grow and stick around to see where this farm that went from a 2 acre vegetable plot to a busy farm stand with an active food truck ends up. Pay: $18 to $25 per hour based on experience and work ethic. How to apply?
