The Cabbagetown Farmers’ Market invites you to become a vital part of our 2026 market season, offering a unique opportunity to connect with local farmers and artisans. Market Overview Nestled in the heart of downtown Toronto, near the charming intersection of Winchester and Sumach streets and adjacent to the scenic Riverdale Farm, our market boasts an array of local produce and handcrafted goods. Operating every Tuesday from 3 PM to 7 PM, our season spans from May 12th to October 20th, ensuring our commitment to the community takes place rain or shine. Volunteer Roles We are thrilled to offer three dynamic volunteer opportunities tailored to different interests and skills: Market Set-up (1:30 PM – 3:00 PM) Facilitate vendors with transporting goods and setting up stalls. Coordinate with the market manager for efficient placement and setup of market essentials. Note: This role involves some physical activity. Market Takedown (6:45 PM – 7:45 PM) Assist vendors with booth disassembly and transportation of goods. Help the market manager with packing and storing market supplies. Note: This role requires some physical effort. Market Support (3 PM – 7 PM) Be the face of the market by staffing the information booth. Engage in promotional activities, assist with food donations, and conduct customer surveys. Who Can Volunteer? No previous experience with farmers markets necessary. Must be punctual, reliable, and notify the market manager of any schedule changes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
