Heritage property stewardship, maintenance Position: Property Operations & Grounds Steward Location: Heart Lake Road, Caledon, 5 minutes from Orangeville, Ontario Schedule: Flexible Part-Time (approx. 16 to 30 hours per week) Term: Seasonal (April – October) OR Year-Round (Winter work available) Compensation: $22.00 – $25.00 / hour (based on experience) The Opportunity Are you a resourceful, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in stewardship, machinery precision, and high-standard property aesthetics? We are seeking a dedicated operational partner to oversee the upkeep and aesthetic care of our scenic 37-acre property in Caledon. This historic site features a landmark heritage stone residence, the highly reputable Sonnen Hill Brewery, and a growing small-farm vegetable business, Spiffy Land Co. This position is designed for someone who values autonomy, appreciates heritage craftsmanship, and enjoys seeing the direct, tangible results of their work. You will have access to premium, well-maintained equipment, including a modern tractor, zero-turn mower, and top-tier gas and battery maintenance tools. We Are Happy To Tailor The Schedule To Fit Your Lifestyle Choose Your Hours: Whether you prefer working five 4-to-5-hour days, or knocking out the work in two intensive 10-to-11-hour days, we are entirely flexible — as long as the weekly priorities are met. Seasonal or Year-Round: While our peak season runs from April through October, we have winter work available for the right candidate. Winter responsibilities would transition to snow clearing for brewery and residential pathways, winterizing/maintaining machinery, and splitting/stacking firewood to keep the brewery firepits stocked. Core Responsibilities Visual Stewardship: Perform precision string trimming and edge-work around the heritage stone house, visitor paths, and patios to maintain a pristine guest experience. Brand Impressions & Aesthetics: Proactively maintain gravel driveways (weeding) and curate welcoming outdoor spaces for brewery guests (including firepit organization, clearing, and wood stacking). Asset Protection: Conduct routine inspections and basic structural upkeep of paddock fence lines and gate systems. Production & Operational Support: Assist with general farm chores and light infrastructure tasks to help both the farm and brewery operations grow smoothly. Who You Are Mechanically Minded: You have proven experience safely operating and respecting agricultural machinery, including tractors and zero-turn mowers. Disciplined & Autonomous: You prefer working from a clear priority checklist. You enjoy managing your own day efficiently without needing constant direct supervision. Detail-Focused: You take pride in clean edges and neat pathways, and you respect the boundaries of a delicate, active market-garden ecosystem.
