The Ford BSP and Driver Development Team is seeking a skilled embedded software developer that is experienced in the areas of BSP and secure bootloaders. The range of projects the candidate will be working on will be infotainment, connectivity and other HW modules in the next generation of FORD vehicles. RESPONSIBILITIES What you'll do... The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: * Design and implement BSP/bootloader features as part of a larger team-based software project * Design and implement secure boot features * Create software design documents * Participate in design reviews * Assist with product verification and validation, troubleshooting and testing * Communicate problems early to team members and offer solutions * Drive or participate troubleshooting with multiple teams and vendors QUALIFICATIONS You'll have... Education: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field of study. Experience: * Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and development of BSP and bootloaders. * Minimum 5 years of C experience. * Experience with ARM-based SoC development. * Minimum 2 years of Linux kernel driver development experience (device tree, platform drivers, interrupt handling, power management). Even better, you may have... Experience: * Capable of reading electronic schematics. * Experience with automotive Ethernet (100BASE-T1/1000BASE-T1, TC10 sleep/wake). * Skilled in using debugging tools like JTAG and the oscilloscope/logic analyzer. * Driver development experience (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN/CAN FD, etc.). * Excellent problem solving and intuitive debugging skills. * Experience of driving troubleshooting across multiple teams and vendors. * Understanding of SHE (Secure hardware Extension) specification. * Experience with Hardware Security Module (HSM) or other SHE based hardware security modules. * Understanding of various cryptographic algorithms (RSA, DES, AES, SHA-1, etc.). * Experience with eMMC. * Experience with NAND, NOR memory controllers. * Designed and implemented custom bootloader. * Experience with version control tools (e.g. SVN, Git). The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $96,000.00 - $146,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
