Summary: Reporting to the Director of Steep Bank; the Equipment Finance & Operations Analysis Manager is responsible for overseeing financial and operational analysis within an equipment-based business. The encumbant will monitor equipment costs, revenue, utilization, and performance while supporting budgeting, forecasting, customer billing, management reporting, and profitability initiatives. The position provides financial and operational insight by identifying cost overruns, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. It requires strong experience in project controls, budgeting, change management, claims, risk analysis, and full-cycle cost and revenue tracking, along with a solid understanding of financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processes. The incumbent must conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision, and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP. Key Focus: Support the Director – Steep Bank Earth LP with daily, weekly, and monthly management and financial reporting, analysis, and updates. Reconcile recoverable revenue based on equipment availability and utilization through daily, weekly, and monthly routines. Analyze costs related to equipment damage recovery and maintenance quality issues and recommend mitigation strategies. Monitor financial statements to ensure costs are correctly allocated, including flow through and customer-billable expenses. Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual management and financial reporting. Contribute to the annual budget, including forecasting and reforecasting. Analyze cost per hour (CPH) for all equipment types; identify cost overruns and recommend mitigations. Perform business performance analysis across operating groups (Heavy Equipment, Medium Duty, Light Vehicles, and Support). Lead external customer billing processes and manage external rental contracts. Support Supply Chain in identifying key parts, tools, and consumables for pricing analysis and Master Service Agreement development. Maintain standard rate tables in collaboration with the Director. Support Equipment Manager and Superintendents with reporting to manage site-level cost and revenue. Serve as a key liaison with the Corporate Controller and Finance Group (Fort McKay Group of Companies). Develop and maintain operational metrics and reports, including Equipment Availability, Operated Hours vs. Service Meter Hours, maintenance labor efficiency, and downtime metrics. Review and allocate cost transactions in alignment with budget. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Requirements: Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required. A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related field is preferred. 5+ years of previous experience in finance, project management, or accounting within the mining, construction or heavy equipment industry. A technical certification in the mechanical field, with prior Business Administration experience is considered an asset. A valid Class 5- Non GDL License (or equivalent) is required, along with a clean satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract. Proficiency in service management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) ; Power BI experience is an asset. ERP system experience considered an asset. Strong background in project controls, budgeting, change management, claims, and risk analysis. Joint venture accounting experience is an asset. Solid understanding of full-cycle operational cost and revenue tracking. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to influence and align stakeholders. Experience with financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processes. Tactful, diplomatic, and effective in conflict resolution. High attention to detail with exceptional accuracy. Demonstrates continuous learning and adaptability through cross-training and skill development. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent time management and prioritization abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. This is a full time position located at the Alex & Alice Boucher Fort McKay Industrial Park, North of Fort McMurray, AB. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 Hours / day.
