Summary: Under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent(s), the Team Lead Supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance of heavy mining equipment by coordinating daily work activities, guiding technicians, and ensuring maintenance tasks meet operational requirements. This role provides hands-on leadership on the shop floor, bridging technical expertise with frontline coordination to keep equipment available, reliable, and compliant with site standards. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing. Key Focuses: Provide contractor management by monitoring and directing work to sub-contractors on mining equipment repairs. Ensure Quality Assurance is followed and seek continual improvement regarding daily preventative maintenance servicing, as required. Coordinate with the Maintenance Superintendent to ensure that staff are competent, fit for duty, and have the required skills and training to carry out daily activities. Supports daily maintenance planning and scheduling while prioritizing inspections, diagnostics, planned repairs, and urgent breakdowns, ensuring work progresses efficiently. Help manage the flow, movement and staging of equipment between all sites, maintaining safe, organized work areas. Ensure that qualified personnel perform tasks requiring authorization, and that equipment is utilized in accordance with the design specifications and correct operating procedures. Work with the Maintenance Superintendent and Equipment Manager to manage employee relations issues, with an ability to always maintain confidentiality. Implement new or revised policies and procedures assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent Identify and mitigate risks and hazards through regular inspections and behavioral observations. Work with Supervisor, Superintendent, and HSE department to ensure that standards for safe-working procedures and conditions are observed and followed. Prepare various reports, maintain records, and report activities in a timely manner as required. Job task tracking – efficiency, labor hours Participate in procedures and best practices Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned. Knowledge and Requirements: Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required. Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Technician, Journeyperson Parts Person is required. A valid Class 5- Non GDL License is required, along with a clear satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract. CSTS (Constructions Safety Training Systems), and CSO/BSO is required. Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience in Ceridian Dayforce and/or SAP is considered an asset. 3+ years of verifiable experience as a leader in a preventative maintenance technician role in an Industrial environment- relevant experience in an Oilsands production environment relating to Mining, Civil Construction, and Heavy Equipment Operation. Effective communicator and displays strong and professional interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written communication, and listening skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively in all situations, writes clearly and informatively. Strong conflict resolutions skills, with the ability to collaborate with other groups to mitigate and solve issues that may affect the contract or the Fort McKay Group of Companies. Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as in a team environment. Ability to adapt to changing client requirements. Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills. Problem solving skills: problems are solved within general policies and rules under general/limited guidance. This requires the incumbent to have specialized knowledge. Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and the protection of FMGOC and client’s property in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations. Excellent time management skills with an ability to manage conflicting priorities. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Ability to speak, write and read English is required. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Technician or Parts Person certification and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license. At least 3 years of leadership experience in an industrial preventative maintenance environment is required.
