The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, and evaluating nursing interventions for patients in an acute surgical unit. They collaborate with the interprofessional team to coordinate care, perform diagnostic tests, and educate patients and families on health maintenance. Candidates must have graduated from an approved School of Nursing and hold current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Proficiency in patient assessment, clinical reasoning, and the ability to operate related medical equipment are essential.
