You’ll help them find exactly what they need, load up their vehicles, and keep our yard running smoothly. This is an active, outdoor role, and no two days are the same. You’re generally the first and last point of contact for our customers, so your attitude and energy make a real difference. You’ll also work closely with the rest of the yard and store team to make sure everything runs like clockwork. What You’ll Be Doing * Greeting all customers in a friendly manner within 60 seconds of their arrival * Approaching and interacting with any customers within 15 feet of you * Helping customers find products and sharing product knowledge, including being able to identify and differentiate lumber species, grades, dimensions, and common building materials * Using our customer service approach – Greet, Qualify, Recommend, and Close – to understand each customer’s project and suggest the right products (and any helpful add-ons) * Loading products into customers’ vehicles * Completing daily yard upkeep: culling and flat-stacking lumber, labelling products and prices, maintaining pallets, and keeping stock organized * Keeping the yard clean, safe, and welcoming for both customers and teammates * Collaborating with the store team to communicate product availability, flag stock issues, and ensure a seamless customer experience from yard to checkout * Always working in compliance with WorkSafeBC Standards * Staying in the loop on current promotions and product availability * Completing opening and closing duties for the yard What We’re Looking For No experience in lumber or construction? No problem, we’ll teach you what you need to know!
